AN EVENING OF DANCE PRODUCED BY LAUREN LOVETTE
PRESENTED BY FESTIVAL BALLET ENSEMBLE
New York City Ballet Principal Dancer and acclaimed choreographer Lauren Lovette is bringing ballet back to live audiences by creating a pop-up theater for a one-night-only gala event at Spring Studios – home of some of New York’s most iconic cultural events including New York Fashion Week and the Tribeca Film Festival.
Why It Matters will take place on Friday, July 16th and begin with a rooftop cocktail reception, followed by a performance with a sunset intermission in the theater, then conclude with a post-show celebratory dinner with the dancers.
The performance will feature dancers from New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre and San Francisco Ballet in a program created and curated by Ms. Lovette, highlighted by 4 world premieres and selected additional works by Ms. Lovette and other choreographers.
